š HALLOWEEN SAFETY REMINDER š
From all of us at Stethoscopes and Sacrifices:
Tomorrow is Halloween, and we want every child to come home smiling, safe, and with too much candy (the good kind, not the sketchy kind).
Please keep these in mind while youāre out trick-or-treating:
⢠Check all candy before kids eat it. Throw away anything thatās open, torn, unwrapped, or just doesnāt look right.
⢠Stay in well-lit areas and walk in groups. No child should be walking alone, and adults should keep eyes on everybody ā especially the little ones who like to run.
⢠Bright colors, glow sticks, or something reflective on clothing can literally help cars see you. Dark costumes are cute, but safety is cuter.
⢠Make sure costumes and shoes fit. Too-long costumes = tripping, falling, hitting the ground. We see it every year.
⢠If your child has asthma, allergies, diabetes, or any medical needs, please bring what they need with you (inhaler, EpiPen, snacks, glucose tablets, water, etc.). Do not assume youāll āonly be out for a little while.ā
⢠Drivers: slow down. Halloween is not the night to be in a rush. Kids can and will jump out from between parked cars.
And finally, check on the older kids too. Teens go out, teens wander, teens get pressured. Remind them: answer your phone, send location, and come home when you say you will. No party is worth risking your safety.
We care about our communities, our children, and our healthcare workers who take care of them. Letās keep everybody out of the emergency room tomorrow night.
Have fun. Be safe. Bring your jacket.š¤š
